Cub Scout Trail Grade Requirements

Light of Christ must be completed before 3rd Grade for Tiger or Wolf Cub Scouts.   Bear or Webelos must have completed 2nd Grade to begin Parvuli Dei.

The Cub Scout emblems are earned in a family setting with the Cub and parents or guardians. It takes an average 90 to 180 days to complete each program. Cub awards may be started anytime. We urge you to consider attending our annual Awards Sunday, potentially with Bishop Olson, as this is a “life memory.” Imagine yourself, as a young child, walking up to Bishop Olson and being given an award you earned. Your Scout may also be awarded with the unit locally before or after to enhance the accomplishment. See our calendar for date, time and location of our annual awards ceremony but it is typically during April each year. Some parishes or Packs have a Religious Emblems Coordinator. Check with your parish or pack as this person can be of major assistance to you.     In addition to the medal, scouts earning any of these emblems are entitled to wear the youth religious knot with program device on their uniform.

Program Completion

Suggested local presentations are at the end or after a Mass, or in the scout’s church or pastor’s office with family and friends. The medal should be blessed. The knot can be presented at a pack meeting. Email Religious Emblems Chair Bonnie Johnson angel_lady46@yahoo.com for the form to order Cub Scout medals.
