Boy Scouts Retreat 2009

The 2008 Catholic Boy Scout Retreat will be on October 9th through 11th, Friday evening to Sunday noon. The Retreat will be held at Worth Ranch near Palo Pinto, Texas.

Boy Scouts The theme of this year's Retreat is "In Search for the Holy Grail!" There will be indoor and outdoor events at the Retreat. Father Tran will offer Reconciliation and Mass Saturday evening. Full Class A uniform required for Dinner and Mass.

The cost for the Retreat will be $20.00 per Scout or Scouter. The Registration form can be copied and used for Unit or individual registration. Please mail the Registration form to the address listed on the form. Mailed forms must be received by October 1st to help us plan for the right amount of food for everyone. Registration will also be accepted at the Retreat, but to help us plan for food and other logistical concerns we encourage you to send forms in as early as possible.

Boy Scouts At this time, training to become an Ad Altare Dei and Pius XII Religious Awards Counselor is planned for Saturday. Attending the training session is not the only requirement to be certified as a Counselor, per Guidelines set forth by the National Catholic Committee on Scouting and Bishop Vann. Both BSA YPT and Diocesian Keeping Our Children Safe are MANDATORY. The Counselor Application can be found here (PDF). Filling in the required information, and having the training approved by your Parish Priest before the Counselor training will speed up the approval process.

For Scouters only attending the Saturday Counselor training sessions, the cost is $5.00 for training, a patch and lunch, or $10.00 for training, a patch, lunch and supper.

  • A completed copy of a recent BSA Health Form for Summer Camp, Philmont or High Adventure.
  • A photocopy of your current Health Insurance Card (front and back).

Troops, Posts, Venture Crews:

Scout Masters, Advisors, Please have the above information for all attending Scouts & Scouters in a large envelope. Be sure to label the envelope with; Unit, number, and name of the adult leader. This information will be held by the Camp Nurse, and will be returned at the close of the Retreat.
